APC Reopens Nationwide Electronic Membership Drive to Boost Party Database Ahead of 2027

Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has formally resumed its electronic membership registration exercise across the country, urging both existing and prospective members to take part in the digital drive.

In statements released on Wednesday and widely reported by local news outlets, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, said the e‑registration now active in all wards and designated centres nationwide is aimed at modernising and digitising the party’s membership register.

According to Vanguard, the APC is encouraging existing members to validate their status while inviting new members to register and join what it calls the “progressive family.” The party noted that participants must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN) to complete the digital process.

Political analysts believe the renewed focus on electronic registration reflects the APC’s broader strategy to strengthen internal structures, update member data, and enhance grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections. Observers also note that previous phases of the e‑registration exercise have drawn significant attention, with state party officials and leaders actively mobilising support and participation across various regions.

As the country’s largest political party moves forward with its digitisation push, the outcome of the registration exercise will likely inform internal planning, candidate selection, and engagement strategies in the lead‑up to Nigeria’s next electoral cycle.
