At least 10 people have been confirmed dead following a deadly bandit attack on several communities in Kwara State, sparking renewed fears over insecurity in the region.

According to our corresponded, the assailants invaded the affected communities in the late hours, shooting indiscriminately and setting multiple houses ablaze, forcing residents to flee for safety. Eyewitnesses described the attack as swift and brutal, leaving families shattered and properties reduced to ashes.

Punch Newspapers also reported that local sources claimed the attackers operated freely for hours before security operatives arrived, raising concerns about response time and community protection.

As of the time of reporting, authorities are yet to release an official statement on arrests or casualties, while security agencies have reportedly begun manhunt operations in surrounding areas.

The incident adds to the growing list of violent attacks in parts of North-Central Nigeria, intensifying calls for stronger security measures to protect rural communities.
