It’s indeed a black Friday for the Police in Rivers State as one of its officers has been shot dead by yet to be identified gunmen. 

It was gathered that the gunmen had launched an attack on the unsuspecting police officers numbering 4 at the Marine base roundabout.

An eyewitness told our correspondent that the police officers who were always seen at the roundabout controlling traffic were sitting under an umbrella at the roundabout at about 7.30pm when the gunmen opened fire on them killing one while others fled for safety. 

The police is yet to issue a statement on the incident.
