China has called for an immediate cessation of hostilities in the Middle East following fresh threats by Donald Trump to intensify military action against Iran.

According to reports by AFP and Vanguard, Beijing urged all parties involved to de-escalate tensions and return to dialogue, warning that continued military action could worsen the crisis.

Speaking at a press briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stressed that the use of force would not resolve the conflict, adding that escalating hostilities are not in the interest of any side. She called on concerned parties to “immediately cease military operations.”

The call comes amid rising tensions after Trump reportedly threatened heavier strikes on Iran in the coming weeks, a move that has further heightened global concerns over stability in the region.

China’s position aligns with growing international calls for restraint, as fears mount over the broader economic and security implications of the conflict, particularly its impact on global oil supply and regional peace.

Analysts say Beijing’s intervention underscores its push for diplomatic resolution, even as military rhetoric continues to escalate between Washington and Tehran.
