Classic FM 91.1 Spreads Love at Port Harcourt Correctional Centre on Valentine’s Day

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, Classic FM 91.1 extended love beyond the airwaves with a special outreach to the Port Harcourt Correctional Centre, bringing hope and essential supplies to inmates.

The station, alongside its listeners and staff, organized a donation drive that culminated in a meaningful visit to the facility. The initiative was aimed at demonstrating compassion and support to members of society who are often forgotten during festive periods.

Thanks to the generous contributions from the Classic FM community, a wide range of essential items was collected and distributed. These included fairly used clothes, bathing and bar soaps, detergents, toothpaste and toothbrushes, body creams, shaving sticks, boxers (innerwear), bathroom slippers, and other daily provisions.

In addition, inmates were treated to food and refreshments , cakes, and other goodies, adding warmth to the Valentine’s celebration.

Management of Classic FM expressed appreciation to everyone who donated and supported the initiative, noting that the success of the outreach reflects the station’s continued commitment to social responsibility and community impact.

The visit served not only as a gesture of charity but also as a reminder that love, kindness, and humanity should extend to every corner of society.
