Court Adjourns Case Concerning Past Rivers Governor, Rivers APC Candidate

The 7-count charge in a criminal matter brought by the Rivers State Government against the former minister for transportation Rotimi Amaechi and the Governorship candidate of the APC in Rivers State, Tonye Cole,​former Commissioner for power in Rivers State Augustine Nwokocha ​and Sahara Energy has been adjourned to the 19th of January.​

The Rivers State Government is asking the court to determine if the sales of critical assets of the state by the defendants were in line in line with due process.​

Justice Chiwendu Nworgu of the state high court adjourned the matter following the defendants’ absence in court​.

Counsel to the Rivers State Government Alphonsus Sibi said​they were not able to serve some of the parties involved in the party which was the primary reason why the matter was adjourned.​
