A matter seeking the disqualification of sen Magnus Abe as the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party has been adjourned to the 12th of January 2023 by a federal high court presided by Justice E.O Obile.
A member of the SDP in Andoni Ataisi Ntene had dragged Abe to court on grounds that he contested the primaries of both the APC and the SDP.
When the matter came up in court today Defense counsel pleaded with the court for time to respond to court processes.
Speaking shortly after the court session, counsel to the plaintiff Achi William Wobodo said they were in court to seek the disqualification of senator Abe for having violated sections of the electoral law.
Our correspondent Allwell Ene reports that the court also adjourned to the 12th of January a suit challenging the eligibility of the SDP candidate for Andoni Constituency Mgbo-Awaji Augustus.
Ataisi Ntene had dragged the SDP, INEC, and Mgbo-Awaji Augustus to court for unlawfully substituting her name and replacing her with the name of Mgbo-Awaji Augustus without her consent.
