The Dangote Refinery has commenced the export of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) to Cameroon, Ghana, Angola, and South Africa, with diesel and jet fuel reaching international markets, including Europe. This was disclosed by Devakumar Edwin, Vice President of Oil and Gas at Dangote Industries Limited, during a visit by Japan’s Ambassador-designate to Nigeria, Suzuki Hideo, and a delegation from the Japanese Business Community.
Edwin highlighted that the refinery, built by Nigerian investors and engineers, is the world’s largest single-train facility, meeting international standards with cutting-edge technology. The Dangote Petrochemical project is also expanding to support Nigeria’s downstream industries, reduce reliance on imports, and boost the economy.
The Japanese delegation lauded the refinery as a technological masterpiece and a testament to Nigeria’s role as Africa’s gateway. They expressed interest in collaborations across various sectors, emphasizing the facility’s global significance.
