Election observer groups express optimism that the BVAS would promote free fair polls

Election observers and Civil society actors have expressed confidence that the Biometrics voters accreditation system BVAS will pave way for a credible election.

Country director Equity international initiative Chris Iyama who gave this at one day national roundtable on the roadmap to a credible and violence free 2023 elections said the BVAS has already been tested in Osun as a veritable tool for a credible election. 

In the meantime the Rivers State focal person  Yiaga Africa in his goodwill message lamented that few days to the election some voters still do not know their the polling unit where they would vote. He called on INEC to carry out elaborate sensitization to ensure such issues are taken care of.
