The Federal Government has announced the expansion of the National Fire Academy Sheda, in Abuja, the training arm of the Federal Fire Service FFS, saying it would on May 28 begin the groundbreaking of several projects at the academy.
The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo who disclosed this yesterday in Abuja, after inspecting some ongoing projects at the academy, said some of the projects that would be flagged off include a Clinic, Worship Centres, Props Centre, Sports Arena, Lecture Halls, Hostels and others.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Interior revealed that more of the 109 inmates who fled the Suleja Medium security custodial centre two weeks ago have been recaptured by security forces at different locations.
The Minister of Interior who disclosed this shortly after visiting Kuje Correctional Centre and the Federal Fire Training Institute in Sheda, Abuja, did not give the numbers of inmates recaptured so far, while he reassured a restrenthening of all correctional facilities to prevent future jailbreak.
