FG Warns Abuja Auto Dealer Over Mockery of Civil Servants in Car Ad

The Federal Government has cautioned popular Abuja car dealer, Alamin Sarkinmota, over a recent advert that mocked civil servants’ inability to afford luxury cars.

In a letter issued by the Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Lanre Issa-Onilu, the government expressed displeasure over Sarkinmota’s video promoting a 2023 Mercedes-Benz C300 with AI features, where the car responds to the question “Can civil servants afford you?” with “No! maybe in 2062.”

The NOA described the statement as “condescending,” especially during a period when many Nigerians face economic hardship. The agency emphasized the importance of civil servants in national development and warned the dealer to avoid hurting public sensibilities in future advertisements.
