Five persons were feared dead when suspected cultists on Saturday invaded a housing estate in Ahoada town Ahoada East LGA in search of a member of a rival cult group.
We gathered that a shoot-out ensued between the invaders suspected to be members of the Greenland cult group and their rivals. This Iceland cult group resulted in the deaths including a woman who sustained gunshot injuries.
The corpses were left on the road till Sunday morning.
A source disclosed that residents had remained indoors for fear of stray bullets adding that there was no security presence for over two hours that the shooting lasted.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the police in the state Grace Iringe-Koko said the clash was to establish supremacy between the ICELANDERS AND GREENLANDERS.
She said one CHUKWUJEKU KINGSLEY, male aged ‘ 36YRS and CHIBUIKE THANK GOD ‘Male aged 23YRS were identified dead while the remaining three corpses were yet to be determined.
The statement added that TACTICAL PATROL TEAMS HAVE BEEN MOBILISED TO THE AREA TO RESTORE NORMALCY AND an INVESTIGATION INTO THE INCIDENT IS IN PROGRESS.
