Food inflation rate hits 35.4% as Nigeria’s headline inflation soars to 29.9%

According to a report disclosed by The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) in its CPI report for January, released on Thursday, food has now surged to 35.4 percent in the month under review.

The bureau said the January 2024 headline inflation rate showed an increase of “0.98% points when compared to the December 2023 headline inflation rate”.
