House of Reps to Debate Tinubu’s Four Tax Reform Bills Today

News

The House of Representatives will debate four tax reform bills today, February 12, 2025, transmitted to the National Assembly by President Bola Tinubu in 2024. The bills include the Nigeria Tax Bill 2024, which will set the fiscal framework for taxation in the country, and the Tax Administration Bill, aimed at creating a clear legal framework for taxes and minimizing disputes.

Other bills are the Nigeria Revenue Service Establishment Bill, which will replace the Federal Inland Revenue Service Act with a new revenue service, and the Joint Revenue Board Establishment Bill, which will establish a tax tribunal and tax ombudsman. A lawmaker confirmed that the bills will be debated today.
