Convicted rap mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has asked a U.S. judge for mercy ahead of his sentencing on Friday, blaming past misconduct on drug addiction.
In a letter, Combs apologised to his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura and another victim, admitting his “selfishness” and saying jail time has reformed him. Found guilty in July on two prostitution-related charges, he faces up to 20 years, with prosecutors seeking at least 11.
His accusers, however, urged the court to impose a long sentence, warning he remains dangerous. Combs says he is sober for the first time in 25 years and asked the judge to consider his children and elderly mother, calling for a second chance.
