Alex Ikwechegh, a House of Representatives member from Aba North & South Federal Constituency (APGA), reportedly assaulted a Bolt driver delivering a package to him at his residence in Maitama, Abuja. In a viral video, Ikwechegh was seen repeatedly slapping and insulting the driver for asking him to retrieve the package himself, which Ikwechegh considered disrespectful.

“Do you know who I am? I can make this man (driver) disappear in the whole of Nigeria and nothing will happen,” Ikwechegh stated, adding, “I am not going to give this boy one naira of my money.”

When the driver requested his delivery fee, Ikwechegh continued his aggression, saying, “Do you know who I am? I just slapped you and there’s nothing you will do. My name is Honourable Alex Ikwechegh, tell them (public) I slapped you. Call the Inspector General of Police that I slapped you, let him come. Record me very well.”

This incident comes after Ikwechegh was recently declared the winner of the Aba North & South Federal Constituency seat by the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal, following the disqualification of Emeka Nnamani over certificate forgery.
