Sixty thousand, eight hundred and sixty five BVAS machines have already been configured for the conduct of the Saturday 18th governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections in Rivers State
INEC resident electoral Commissioner Johnson Alalibo Sinikiem disclosed this yesterday during the Inspection and distribution of sensitive materials at the CBN office in Port Harcourt
Alalibo who assured that INEC would not allocate votes to candidates during the elections also disclosed that twenty two BVAS machines are still missing
Some party agents at the event gave their remarks on the exercise and called on the electoral body to exhibit good conduct during the Saturday’s election
Correspondent Allwell Ene reports that a total of 17 LGAs were attended to including the 9 LGAs that were earlier distributed and returned to CBN last week. The LGAs are Bonny, Asari-Toru, Akuku-Toru, Port-Harcourt, Obio-Akpor, Ahoada-West, Ahoada-East, Abua/Odual, Degema, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni, Khana, Andoni, Opobo/Nkoro, Gokana, Eleme, Oyigbo and Tai.
The remaining 6 LGAs will be attended to today
