The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has declared that after over four years of trial, the Federal Government has failed to present any credible evidence connecting its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, to terrorism, violence, or incitement.
In a statement on Monday, IPOB’s Directorate of Legal Affairs, Onyekachi Ifedi, criticised what it described as misinformation, media propaganda, and outdated laws being used against Kanu. IPOB insisted that no victims, material evidence, or valid testimonies have been presented, and that the charges were filed under repealed laws.
The group called for due process, an end to what it termed Kanu’s persecution, and urged the public and media to rely on verified legal facts. IPOB also maintained that it is not an unlawful organisation, citing a 2017 court ruling.
