Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has lauded the UK Visa Application Centre in Enugu for its efficient and courteous service. During a visit, Mbah encouraged residents of the South East and South-South regions to use the centre, highlighting its convenience.
A statement from Mbah’s media office noted that he also invited other foreign missions to establish similar centres in Enugu, emphasizing the region’s large population and entrepreneurial spirit. “Frankly, the consular services here are fully functional. As you can see, the service to me was quite prompt. I have also been informed that this is the same prompt delivery to all applicants, who sought their services here,” Mbah stated.
He pointed out that the UK Visa Application Centre in Enugu spares residents the trouble of traveling to Lagos or Abuja for visa submissions. Mbah further urged, “I use this opportunity not only to invite those who are within the South East and South-South states to come here for their visa applications, but also call on other foreign missions like the United States, the Chinese Government, and others to equally set up their consular services here.”
The governor stressed the region’s significance, saying, “Do not forget that Enugu is a very important state in the entire south… the South East is one region that is densely populated. We are talking about an area of less than 30,000 square kilometres with over 27 million people.”
