Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to ending gas flaring and focus on natural gas as a transition fuel alongside other renewable energy sources.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu made the declaration at the weekend at the ongoing United Nations Climate Conference (COP28) summit on fossil fuel, financing and other non-greenhouse gases in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The President, who shared the platform with the President of COP28, Dr Sultan Ahmed al-Jabar; told the world that Nigeria has already imposed a heavy penalty for defaulters and huge incentives to curb industrial gas flaring.
