Nigeria's First Lady Speaks on Role of Civil Registration System

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has emphasized the vital role of a
comprehensive and effective civil registration system in fostering national
development and enhancing governance.


Speaking at the launch of the 2024 UNICEF/Renewed Hope Initiative Commemorative
Birth Certificate at the State House in Abuja, Mrs. Tinubu argued that a robust civil
registration system is crucial for achieving Sustainable Development Goal 16, which
focuses on promoting peace, justice, and strong institutions.

The First Lady explained that the commemorative birth certificate will run from 29th
August to 31st December, 2024.
