The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has forecast a mix of sunny, cloudy, and rainy conditions across the country from Monday to Wednesday.
In its weather outlook released Sunday in Abuja, NiMet said northern states will experience sunny skies with cloud patches in the mornings, while isolated thunderstorms and moderate rains are expected in parts of Taraba, Bauchi, Gombe, Kano, Katsina, Sokoto, Adamawa, Kebbi, and Kaduna by afternoon and evening.
For the central region, sunny and cloudy mornings will give way to isolated thunderstorms and moderate rains later in Plateau, Benue, the FCT, Kwara, Nasarawa, and Niger. Southern states will see cloudy mornings, with thunderstorms and light to heavy rains later, especially in Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Edo, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom.
NiMet advised the public to take precautions, warning that strong winds could precede thunderstorms. It urged securing loose objects, avoiding driving in heavy rain, disconnecting electrical appliances during storms, and staying clear of tall trees. Airline operators were advised to get airport-specific weather updates for flight planning.
