NNPC Set to Boost Crude Supply to Dangote Refinery to Seven Cargoes

Dangote Refiniery

Nigeria’s state oil company, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, is ramping up crude oil supply to the Dangote Refinery, with plans to increase deliveries to seven cargoes in a move aimed at strengthening local refining capacity.

According to reports by Reuters and TheCable, the development signals a renewed push to ensure steady feedstock for the refinery, which is seen as a key solution to Nigeria’s long-standing fuel import dependence.

Industry sources cited by the outlets revealed that the increased allocation is expected to improve production output at the refinery, potentially stabilizing fuel supply and easing pressure on domestic prices.

The move comes amid ongoing efforts by the Nigerian government to prioritize local refining and reduce reliance on imported petroleum products. Analysts say a consistent supply of crude to the refinery could mark a turning point for Africa’s largest oil producer.

Observers also note that the collaboration between NNPC and the Dangote Refinery is critical to achieving energy security, as stakeholders continue to watch how the increased cargo deliveries will impact fuel availability nationwide.
