Renowned British architect Norman Foster has been chosen to design the national memorial for the late Queen Elizabeth II. Foster, 90, described the project as an “honour and a privilege.” The memorial, to be built in St James’s Park near Buckingham Palace, will feature statues of the queen on horseback and alongside Prince Philip. A glass bridge inspired by her wedding tiara will symbolize her role as a unifying force. Queen Elizabeth II, Britain’s longest-serving monarch, died in September 2022 at age 96.
