Osun Election: NSCDC Deploys 10,210 Personnel, Tactical Units for Poll Security

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has stepped up security preparations for the Osun governorship election, reportedly deploying 10,210 personnel alongside specialised tactical units to help ensure a peaceful and credible poll.

The massive deployment is aimed at strengthening security across polling units, collation centres and other critical locations while preventing potential threats before, during and after the election.

The move comes as security agencies intensify preparations to safeguard voters, electoral officials and election materials.

The NSCDC has previously deployed large numbers of personnel and specialised units for electoral duties, including intelligence, SWAT, K9 and other tactical formations.

The Corps says its election-security responsibilities include protecting electoral materials, supporting other security agencies, monitoring illegal activities and helping maintain a safe environment for voters.

With more than 10,000 personnel reportedly on the ground, all eyes are now on Osun as security agencies move to ensure the election is peaceful and violence-free.
