Bolaji Idowu, Senior Pastor of Harvesters International Christian Centre, has denied allegations linking him to real estate fraud and money laundering, describing the claims as baseless and misleading.
Reports surfaced on Tuesday alleging that Pastor Idowu had been detained by the Force Criminal Investigation Department in Abuja over purported fraudulent real estate dealings. It was also claimed that his release came after intervention by prominent Christian leaders.
Addressing his congregation during the church’s morning prayer session, Next Level Prayers, on Wednesday, Idowu refuted the accusations, asserting that he neither owns nor trades in real estate in Nigeria. He clarified that the only property associated with him in the country was inherited.
“I do not have any property in Nigeria other than what was bequeathed to me,” Idowu stated, adding that his financial records are transparent and open to scrutiny.
The pastor also dismissed claims of receiving billions of naira into his accounts as part of the alleged fraud. “My accounts are public; anyone can verify if I have ever received billions,” he said.
Idowu expressed shock at the allegations, revealing that he learned about them through media reports, just like the public. He noted that the claims would not distract him from his mission of leading his congregation.
