Former Benue State Governor, Senator Gabriel Suswam, has warned that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) could collapse before the 2027 elections if urgent actions are not taken to address internal crises.
Speaking on Arise TV’s The Morning Show on Tuesday, Suswam described the PDP as being in critical condition, likening it to a patient in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). He expressed concern over ongoing disputes, including the battle for the national secretary position and recent defections of key members in Delta State to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“A lot of people are hanging on, waiting to see the ultimate end of this party,” Suswam said, adding that many members have lost hope in its future.
He noted that a rescue effort led by former Senate President Bukola Saraki and a group of PDP governors could determine the party’s fate in the coming weeks.
