PFIPC Scandal: Wike Challenges Adeyemi to Back Claims Against Gbajabiamila with Evidence
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has challenged Senator Smart Adeyemi to substantiate his allegations against the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, over the alleged Presidential Food Intervention Programme Committee (PFIPC) scandal.
According to reports by The Punch and The Nation, Wike urged Adeyemi to stop making public accusations without evidence and instead present proof to the appropriate authorities if he possesses credible information.
The FCT minister reportedly insisted that allegations involving public officials should be backed by verifiable facts, stressing that unsubstantiated claims could undermine public confidence in government institutions.
Reports by Channels Television and Premium Times indicate that the controversy stems from claims made by Adeyemi regarding the management of the Presidential Food Intervention Programme Committee, allegations that have continued to generate political debate.
As of the time of filing this report, neither Gbajabiamila nor the Presidency had issued a fresh official response to Wike’s latest remarks, while the issue continues to attract reactions from political stakeholders and the public.
