Pharmacists Raise Alarm as Nearly 10,000 Professionals Leave Nigeria in Five Years

Nigeria’s pharmacists have raised concerns over the growing brain drain in the health sector, revealing that 9,850 pharmacists have left the country in the past five years in search of better opportunities abroad.

According to reports by The Punch, Vanguard, and The Guardian Nigeria, industry leaders warned that the mass exodus is worsening the shortage of healthcare professionals and putting additional pressure on Nigeria’s already strained health system.

The pharmacists called on the Federal Government to improve welfare, working conditions, and career opportunities to curb the migration trend and prevent a deeper healthcare crisis.
