President Bola Tinubu, alongside the Executive Director, United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), launched the 2024 regional State of World Population (SWOP) Report in Abuja.
Represented by the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, President Tinubu promised to ensure that girls stay in school and avoid early motherhood, by providing access to quality healthcare and services, and implementing laws to end gender-based violence and other harmful practices.
Nassarawa state Governor represented at the event by his deputy, Emmanuel Akabe, stressed the need for collective action to address maternal health, infant mortality, stunting and malnutrition.
