Hundreds of supporters of suspended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara staged a protest on Tuesday, demanding his reinstatement.
Dressed in black and carrying placards with messages like “Together we stand for Governor Sim Fubara” and “We want back our Governor, we all voted for,” the demonstrators marched from Aggrey Road in Old Port Harcourt Township.
This marks the latest in a wave of protests that have gripped the state since March 18, when President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency and suspended Governor Fubara, his deputy Ngozi Odu, and members of the state’s House of Assembly.
