The Rivers State Council of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, says it will be left with no other option than to ask its members to sit at home next week if the Federal and State government do not act fast to look into the high transport fares paid by workers in the state occasioned by fuel scarcity.
State Chairperson of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Beatrice Itubo said Labour made this threat known while speaking with journalists today.
Comrade Itubo wondered why there is fuel scarcity in the state when the state host most of the petroleum farm tanks which also feed other states but the state government is doing nothing to ensure that there is the availability of the product for its citizens and appealed to the government to act fast to avoid a face-off with Labour.
