The Head of the Rivers State Civil Service, Dr. George Nwaeke, has resigned from his position. His resignation, confirmed in a statement by the Chief of Staff to the Sole Administrator, was made public on Tuesday morning.

The Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (retd.), expressed appreciation for Nwaeke’s contributions during his brief tenure and wished him well in his future endeavors.

Meanwhile, Ibas has appointed Prof. Ibibi Worika as the new Secretary to the Rivers State Government (SSG). The appointment, announced in another statement, highlights Worika’s extensive experience in academia, international law, and policy advisory roles.

His appointment takes immediate effect as part of efforts to promote stability and security in Rivers State.
