Trouble broke out at the INEC collation centre in Port Harcourt yesterday shortly after the collation officer for Port Harcourt Local Government Area Prof Omieye Briggs announced the result of the LGA with Peter Obi winning with 62, 451 votes.
Shortly after the votes were announced the APC registration Area collation agent Chimobi Ejikeme and Roland Orlu stormed into the collation centre accusing the collation officer of manipulating the results of five wards.
Our correspondent reports that earlier the collation officer Omieye Briggs and other INEC Adhoc staff were held back in PHALGA by party supporters but were rescued by the police Commissioner Aderemi Adeoye who after getting intelligent reports visited the area , rescued them and drove them back in his vehicle to the collation centre.
