The United States Embassy has issued a stern warning to Nigerians over the rising cases of visa fraud, cautioning that anyone found guilty risks a permanent ban from entering the United States.
In a strongly worded advisory, the embassy stressed that falsifying documents, providing false information, or using dishonest means during visa applications carries grave consequences that could shut the door to the U.S. forever. According to the mission, visa fraud is not a minor offense but a serious violation of U.S. immigration laws.
The embassy further noted that advances in data sharing and background checks have made it increasingly difficult for fraudulent applications to slip through unnoticed. “There is no second chance for fraud,” the statement implied, as offenders could face lifetime ineligibility, regardless of future applications.
The warning serves as a clear message to intending travelers: honesty is non-negotiable. Applicants were urged to present only genuine documents and accurate information, as cutting corners today could mean losing the opportunity to travel to the United States permanently.
