Hundreds of women marched through Port Harcourt on Monday in a show of support for the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State.
Dressed in white, the women assembled at the Garrison Bus Stop in the city centre at 8 a.m. and proceeded along Aba Road, singing solidarity songs in support of the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), as they headed towards the government house.

The demonstration comes just a week after another group, under the banner ‘Rivers Women for Sim,’ protested against the state of emergency and the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
