A fresh legal storm has erupted as Onoh has openly accused former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, of repeatedly ignoring court orders during his time in office.
Speaking in a scathing rebuke, Onoh alleged that Malami, while serving as the nation’s chief law officer, showed open disregard for judicial rulings, a move he described as dangerous to Nigeria’s democracy and the rule of law. According to him, court orders were treated as “mere suggestions” rather than binding directives under Malami’s watch.
Onoh warned that such actions, if left unchecked, undermine public trust in the justice system and weaken constitutional governance. He called for accountability, insisting that no public official is above the law, regardless of position or influence.
The accusation has sparked heated reactions within legal and political circles, with observers saying the claims could reopen debates over executive compliance with court rulings during Malami’s tenure as AGF.
