The Accord in Rivers State has appealed the judgment of Governorship election petition tribunal which validated the victory of Governor SIMINIALAYI FUBARA of the People’s Democratic Party as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The three man panel of the Rivers State governorship election petition tribunal had dismissed the petition of the Accord governorship candidate, Chief DUMO LULU-BRIGGS for lacking in merits by not proving his claims of irregularities in the election.
But the governorship candidate of Accord Chief DUMO LULU-BRIGGS through his legal team have raised twenty-seven grounds of appeal and five reliefs sought which have been entered and record transmitted.
Amongst the reliefs sought by the Accord and its governorship candidate are an order of the appeal settling outside the part of the judgment of governorship election tribunal and allowing the appeal.
Chief DUMO LULU-BRIGGS also want the appeal to void the election conducted on the 18th and 19th of March, 2023 and returns made in favour of governor FUBARA and PDP and should direct INEC to conduct supplementary election on the office of the governor of Rivers State.
