Following the death of a commercial driver at the Rumuokoro axis in Port Harcourt yesterday, the Rivers State taskforce on illegal street trading has suspended operations today.
Our correspondent who was at the government house car park where the taskforce officials gather to take briefs daily witnessed all the operation trucks parked.
Some of the official who arrived for duty were asked to go home.
One of the senior commanders of the taskforce told our correspondent on condition of anonymity that they decided to suspend operations to allow the tension calm down.
