The Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja has granted former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello bail in the sum of N500 million with three sureties. The bail was granted after a fresh application was submitted following the court’s earlier refusal due to procedural issues. Bello, along with two others, faces trial on 16 counts related to criminal breach of trust and money laundering involving N110.4 billion. The sureties must be responsible citizens with property in Abuja’s Maitama, Guzape, Apo, Wuse 2, or Asokoro areas, and must deposit property documents with the court.
