Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has firmly denied any association with militant groups following the circulation of videos of explosions at oil and gas facilities in the state. The governor’s office has condemned these malicious social media posts, which attempt to link him and his supporters
Governor Fubara emphasized his commitment to peace and security, stating that he would do whatever it takes to maintain stability in Rivers State. He reiterated that governance and development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace.
The governor also issued a stern warning to those spreading fake news and attempting to incite violence or economic sabotage. He called on bloggers and social media users to cease their campaigns of misinformation, which have already caused unnecessary tension in the state. He called on Security agencies to investigate the videos and hold those responsible accountable.
