Hundreds of traders today staged a protest to the Rivers State Government to plead with Governor Fubara to reopen the market and reallocate their shops to them.
The traders who claimed to be the genuine shop owners paraded several placards and marched from the mile 1 market to the Government House.
Leader of the traders Princess Georgewill said apart from reopening the market and reallocating the shops to the genuine traders, compensation should also be made to them to enable them start afresh.
Other traders who spoke alleged that plans were made by some person’s to alot the shops to fake persons but pleaded that the shops be realocated to the genuine persons who were there in 2013 before the market got burnt.
