Nigeria and Brazil are set to strengthen aviation ties through a Bilateral Air Service Agreement (BASA) that will enable direct flights between the two countries. Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo revealed the development after meeting with his Brazilian counterpart, Silvio Costa Filho, in Brasília. Both sides agreed to form a joint team to draft the agreement, aiming for completion in the coming weeks. The deal, seen as a boost for tourism and trade, follows ongoing efforts since a 2018 MoU and recent talks with Brazil’s ambassador to Nigeria. Air Peace and Caverton are expected to operate the route once finalized.
