The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has suspended OKPRAVERO C. UFUOMA, an officer at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, for soliciting financial gratification from a traveler.
The Comptroller General Kemi Nandap in a statement condemned the misconduct, saying it undermines ongoing reforms and doesn’t reflect NIS values.
She assured the public that NIS is committed to removing corrupt elements, in line with its Zero-Tolerance for Corruption policy.
This is the second suspension in one month, following the suspension of Akomolafe Gbenga Michael for alleged drug trafficking. NIS is taking steps to ensure integrity and professionalism within its ranks.
