Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has vowed to remain true to his promises to the people, emphasizing that power will not change his values or commitment to transforming the state.
Speaking during a visit by state leaders and stakeholders at the Government House, Port Harcourt, to celebrate his 50th birthday, Governor Fubara expressed gratitude for their support and reaffirmed his dedication to achieving the vision for a better Rivers State. He assured citizens that he would prioritize respect for people, faith in God, and integrity in governance.
“Power will come and go, but I will remain the Fubara you know,” he said. “With your support, we will put things in place to drive Rivers State toward the future we all desire.”
The Governor also thanked attendees, including former Governor Celestine Omehia and ex-PDP Chairman Prince Uche Secondus, who praised Fubara for his patient and meticulous leadership amidst challenges. Secondus highlighted the Governor’s resilience and commitment to unity and inclusivity as reasons for the growing admiration he enjoys among Rivers people and Nigerians.
The event featured prayers, a toast, a cake-cutting ceremony, and the presentation of gifts from government officials, clergy, and other well-wishers.
