President Bola Tinubu has allayed fears of manipulation by any interest group, in the ongoing economic reforms, saying his campaign was self-sponsored, without strings, or indebtedness to any individual or institution.
The President, who stated this yesterday when he received a delegation of Islamic leaders at the State House led by Sheikh Bala Lau, noted that his victory at the polls last year, was purely by divine intervention, careful planning, and diligence in getting support from Nigerians.
On the planned protest, President Tinubu said the sponsors place their selfish ambitions above national interest, reiterating that protests, fueled by anger and hate, could degenerate into violence, and set the country backwards.
After an earlier meeting between President Tinubu and Prominent royal fathers led by Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III and the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, to brief them of government policies and programmes, the Ooni, appealed to those planning the nationwide protest to allow government address their issues.
