Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has praised the Dunamis International Gospel Centre for its well-organized crusade at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, which he described as a “quintessential evangelism” conducted without disrupting public movement.
Impressed by the event’s orderliness, Soludo announced a refund of the fees paid for the venue and invited the church, led by Pastor Paul Enenche, to hold future programmes there. He also revealed plans for a major facelift of Ekwueme Square, including improved lighting and beautification, in line with Anambra’s identity as “The Light of the Nation.”
In a statement issued on Thursday by his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, Soludo urged the church to continue praying for the state’s spiritual renewal and support the government in rebuilding moral values.
“Our people are known for hard work and innovation, not for kidnapping, internet fraud, drug trafficking, and other criminal activities. We must collectively redirect the minds of our youths towards productivity and positive impact.
“We commend Pastor Enenche for preaching messages that promote righteousness and godly living. This will help reshape the minds of young people and contribute to building a safer and more prosperous Anambra State,” the statement read.
Religious leaders and the Christian community have widely applauded the governor’s gesture as a step toward strengthening the relationship between the government and the church for societal transformation.
Before Soludo’s remarks, Pastor Paul Enenche delivered a sermon titled Serving the God of the Blessing to thousands of worshippers seeking divine intervention. He emphasized God’s commitment to blessing His people, referencing biblical figures Adam and Noah.
“From the beginning, God declared His blessing upon Adam in Genesis 1:28, saying, ‘Be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth, and subdue it.’ Even after the flood, God renewed this blessing with Noah in Genesis 9:1. This shows that God is committed to blessing those who walk with Him,” he said.
Pastor Enenche urged the congregation to remain steadfast in faith and live a life of service and righteousness, assuring them that divine blessings are activated through obedience to God. As the crusade continues, he is expected to lead prayers for individuals, families, and Anambra State, declaring divine blessings upon its people.
