According to reports by our correspondents, the apex bank disclosed that some individuals and groups are impersonating officials of the bank through emails, SMS, and social media platforms in a bid to defraud unsuspecting victims.

Further coverage reveals that the bank also flagged a recent cyber hack attempt, stressing that its systems remain secure while investigations are ongoing to trace those behind the attack.

Meanwhile, Daily Trust reports that the CBN has urged members of the public to disregard suspicious messages requesting personal or financial information, reiterating that it does not directly engage individuals for such transactions.

The development comes amid rising concerns over cybercrime in Nigeria, as authorities intensify efforts to safeguard the country’s financial system from digital threats.
