In a statement reported by Punch Newspapers and Channels Television, the commission clarified that no such restriction has been introduced, describing the circulating reports as misleading and unfounded.
The FCCPC emphasized that telecommunications consumers remain free to access airtime and data credit services without interruption, assuring the public that there has been no policy directive or regulatory move to suspend these services.
The agency further warned against the spread of false information capable of causing unnecessary panic among subscribers, noting that it remains committed to protecting consumer rights and ensuring fair practices within Nigeria’s telecom sector.
This clarification comes amid growing concerns and confusion among mobile users, many of whom had feared a sudden disruption in access to essential communication services.
